July Stitch Fix Review

It’s been some time since I’ve posted a review of the items I received through Stitch Fix (affiliate link).  Quick run-down: Stitch Fix is a styling service for women.  You fill out a style profile, pick price points, and leave notes/a Pinterest board and get a box of 5 items in the mail to try in the comfort of your home.  You keep (and only pay for) what you want and send back what you don’t in the prepaid envelope.  I love this because it’s fun and it’s great trying on items with stuff you already have in your closet.  Also, they just started carrying petite sizes, and I have a hard time finding clothes to fit me.  I usually have good luck with this service!

I had been using the same stylist, but I got a different stylist this month because my usual stylist wasn’t available.  I really liked what she sent me, so I’m going to switch to have her going forward.  I requested pieces for my new job.

Here’s the note my stylist sent me:

Here’s what I received!

Papermoon Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse – $38

Margaret M Emer Printed Cropped Straight Leg Pant – $98

These fit perfectly, as they were both “petite” sized! I already have a couple pairs of this style pant, I just love them.  They are elastic waist and stretchy, but thick enough material to be dressy.  Basically, they’re glorified leggings and the most comfortable thing ever.  I really liked this print because it’s so versatile, the black and white will go with so much.  And my stylist didn’t know this – but colored blazers are kind of my thing.  I have a blazer in just about every color!

I wasn’t sure about this shirt when I pulled it out of the box.  The puffy sleeves looked like they may not be cute on me, and I’m usually drawn to bright colors.  However, the material is nice and it’s a perfect fit.  Definitely a piece I’ll wear a lot and a great value at this price.

Verdict: kept both.

Collective Concepts Sofia Leaf Print Dress – $88

I liked the idea of this dress.  It was comfy and a cute pattern, but still had a professional feel.  However, it was too short for work – it hit me mid thigh.  I probably could have requested an exchange for a regular length and it would have worked, but I just didn’t love this, especially not for $88.  I usually go for more of a sheath dress or wrap dress in a knit, not woven, so I couldn’t see myself wearing this a lot, and I’m trying really hard to only buy things that I LOVE and bring me joy.  Verdict: returned.

Collective Concepts Pamela V-Neck Blouse – $58

Another petite size! This was the first fix I received petite blouses in, and man…they fit so much better than the regular sizes. I liked the cut and fit of this, but wasn’t crazy about the color.  It was just a bit too muted for me, and I don’t have a lot in my closet to match this, so I could only make a couple outfits with it. I tried it on with black trousers from Ann Taylor.  I tried it with a blazer and didn’t love it, either:

It looks okay, but this was about the only outfit I could make out of this top so I couldn’t justify buying it.  I just didn’t love it. I’m going to update my style profile to not get reds or browns, I never keep any pieces I get in those colors.  Verdict: returned

Collective Concepts Ravenna V-Neck Blouse – $54

Um, I’m OBSESSED with this top.  I think I may have even squealed when I pulled it out of the box.  The colors are perfect – so much of my closet is pinks or teals.  I also really love the detail around the neckline.  I just got a new mint colored cardigan and it looked perfect with it:

This top will also look great with jeans, white pants or skirt, navy, etc etc.  It is really versatile and I will be able to make so many outfits out of this.  My only beef with this top is that it was the only item not in petite size, so it’s pretty long.  I emailed customer service to see if I can exchange it, and they didn’t have this in petite.  I usually wear my blouses tucked in to work anyways, so no big deal.  Verdict: kept.

With my styling fee credit, I got two blouses and a pair of pants for $170, about $56 per piece.  I’m excited about all these items and am looking forward to wearing them to my new job! I can’t wait to see what Chelsey sends me next!

Note: I was not compensated for this post, it was not sponsored.  I simply love this service and want to share what I received!
