Week in Review

Hi all! I hope you had a great week! Mine has been ridiculously crazy – travel for work, VERY long workdays, work lunches and dinners – all of which I allowed to derail my training.

Monday, I got in a 3 miler.  Tuesday, I planned as a rest day because it was a travel day.  I got up around 4:30 AM to get to the airport on time, and didn’t end up going to bed until around midnight (CST) because of some work.  That meant no workout on Wednesday morning, either.  I finally got another 3 miles in on Thursday and decided Friday to sleep to allow my body to recover from a hard week.

I saw my Physical Therapist Friday and he could tell that I had been sitting and working a lot of long hours – he advised me to maybe do 6 miles on Saturday, which is what I did.  It was our first super humid run of the year and that combined with my week made for a very discouraging run.  The good news is that my leg and butt felt good! I’m just hoping it was a result of an unfocused and exhausting week – Savannah is just two weeks away!  I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I am disappointed that I’m not going to be in the shape I was hoping for this race, especially since it was a goal race.  However, I’m so looking forward to a girl’s weekend with my favorite ladies and I know we will have a blast!

This morning, Carrie and I volunteered at the Jelly Bean station of the Georgia Marathon & Half marathon.  We had a blast cheering on the runners and giving them jelly beans! Congrats to everyone that raced today!
