Monday: Rest day. Since I did my long run on Sunday, I took Monday as a rest day. I was feeling a little sore so I spent some extra time stretching and rolling. The good news is I had NO piriformis pain!
Tuesday: 30 minutes stationary bike, PT exercises. I was still feeling sore and tired, so I decided to stick to cross training and my PT exercises.
Wednesday: rest day and 60 minute sports massage after work.
Thursday: Three mile run at 10:46 pace. I did this faster than I should have but I was feeling so good, I couldn’t help it!
Friday: PT and drive to Savannah. We drove through torrential rain most of the trip….it was honestly a bit exhausting! We hit the expo and spoke to a few vendors before checking into our bed and breakfast. We topped off the evening with dinner at Sapphire Grill where I had a yummy filet and potatoes.
Saturday: Savannah Women’s Half Marathon, 2:19:37
A longer recap coming later this week, but I was extremely pleased with my performance at this race. The weather was not ideal but I still have it my all and more importantly, didn’t have any piriformis issues! We had two big PRs in our group which everyone was very excited about!
After showers, we walked to Screamin Mimi’s for lunch and had amazing pizza before a nap. We then walked around downtown and finished the evening with dinner at The Olde Pink House and drinks on the rooftop at the Bohemian Hotel. The weather turned out to be so lovely and it was nice to enjoy it.
Sunday: A walk around Forsyth Park to loosen our legs before the drive back to Atlanta. I was pretty sore so when I got home I had a nice soak in the tub which helped a lot!
Overall, it was a great week and an AMAZING weekend. Look for my full race recap later this week!
