This was a really solid week in my training, and I’m getting excited for my half marathon next weekend! I plan to publish a full recap of my fundraising activities for March, so I’m going to skip that recap this week. Truthfully, I didn’t do much for fundraising this week except a bunch of planning, so I don’t have much to report anyways.
Here’s how the week went:
Monday: 4 miles at 10:42 pace. This was a lovely run, and great weather made this an awesome start the week.
Tuesday: Barre at Pink Barre. I’ve been going consistently now at least once a week for the past month, and I’m seeing the difference. I’m feeling stronger in general, and I’m not near as sore after the classes. My former boss met me for this class, then she cooked breakfast for us. Tuesday night, I got my hair done and did some fundraising brainstorming with my hairdresser.
Wednesday: 5 miles at 10:38 pace. I almost didn’t get out of bed for this run. I was tired, sore, and I didn’t want to mess up my hair. But I literally thought of some of the stories I’ve heard throughout my fundraising and drug myself out of the bed. Of course, the run was lovely. My legs felt strong and the weather was great again.
Thursday: Yoga for runners DVD (75 mins). I have been having some back and neck tension, and just have been feeling tight in general. I pulled out a DVD that I’ve had for awhile, but truthfully haven’t done in a couple of years. I don’t know why I haven’t been doing this! I felt so much better after. I’m going to try to do a shorter version a couple times a week on my lunch when I work from home.
Friday: 2 miles at 11:09 pace. It was warm and humid, but it felt good to get my legs moving before travelling.
Saturday: 8 mile run in Williamsburg. I met my friend Angie for 4 miles, then we picked up Chrissy for another 4 miles. The run was beautiful and the best way to start Christina’s wedding day!
That night, we got to celebrate Chrissy and her new husband, Jerry. The night was perfect, and we had an amazing time.
Sunday: Rest and travel back to Atlanta.
Total miles for the week: 19
Also, I am hosting a strength training challenge in my accountability group, so swing by if you’d like to join.
