What’s Next?

Hello! I can’t believe it has been over a week since my marathon! I have spent the past week travelling for work and trying my best to recover. I have to admit that it was nice to not worry about training while travelling!

Cake at dinner with my coworkers!

I’m going to be taking it easy on running the next couple of weeks, and will be focusing on some cross training and weight training. I really feel lost without a schedule, so I’ll sit down this week and make one up.

Later this week, I’m volunteering with Christina and Carrie at the Atlanta Half Marathon. We managed to get spots handing out finisher medals! The Atlanta Half was my very first half marathon and many local runners use this half as their first. I know a lot of people running, and I’m so excited to give them their medals!

I’ve decided that my next goal race will be the Publix Women’s Half Marathon in Savannah, on April 2.  I’ve heard it’s a great race for a girls weekend, and it is driving distance from Atlanta. The course is also reviewed as being both beautiful and flat, so it should make for a great race! I will likely run this one for time to see how much I can shave off of my current PR of 2:10.  I’ll start officially training in January for it.

Until then, I will be taking a break from the blog. December is jam-packed with events and visits with family, and I want to be sure to focus on spending time with the people I care about. I’ll be back in January with an update, and will still occasionally post on Instagram and Twitter in the meantime.

I hope each of you has a safe and happy holiday season….see you in 2016!

  1. Have fun at the ATL half! It was my first half marathon back in 2012. I have yet to race in Savannah, but need to get on that. It’s so close for us.

    • It was my first half in 2013, I can’t believe it’s been 2 years! Check out the women’s half, it has great reviews!!!!

  2. Wishing you all the best on your down time/upcoming training season for your half. Whenever someone says “flat course” I’m very easily won over haha
